What you can expect from our Tours
Our tours are customized to our audience. We try our best to share information that will be easily absorbed by our ‘tourists’. A typical tour, includes the following:
10 minute video taking you from woodlot management, tapping, collecting, boiling, packaging, right through to the end of the season and all the activities in between
Tapping of a tree – this is more for the younger aged school children, but we show everyone how the tree heals itself from season to season by pointing out the healed tap holes. We also talk about the proper way to tap
A demonstration of what the tubing looks like right up at the shed, so those that don’t want to venture back to the bush can picture what it is like in the bush
The inner workings – a tour through our facility which includes discussion on tubing damage – who does what, reverse osmosis – taking water out of the sap to reduce boiling time, holding tanks – how much storage to you need, boiling – when is sap syrup, packaging – hot packing, ending with a taste of our certified organic maple syrup
A walk through the bush to see how we have set up the bush and see the various pieces of equipment used (optional)
We welcome school bus tours for all ages – contact us to discuss the trip
We also want to include our seniors in the ‘maple experience’. We host senior groups for pancakes and a modified tour of our facility to take into consideration possible mobility issues. We have built our facility with seniors and those with mobility issues in mind. We are all on one level, have large doors with education videos covering every step of the process.
Tours are held all year round – for those off-season tours - contact us to discuss
Tours during the season – book on line on the website and we will send you a confirmation email
Birthday Parties

Sponsored Events
As a member of the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association (OMSPA), I participate at the Maple Education Booth at various IPMs. This is an opportunity to educate the public by answering questions and sharing information regarding Maple Syrup. We usually see approximately 1,000 students through the Education Tent. Overall, there are approximately 100,000 visitors to the IPM.
Meetings
At Hoover's Maple Syrup, we can accommodate a group of up to 20 people. We offer a quiet, relaxing atmosphere for meetings or get togethers.
